1. Introduction
This manual describes how to operate "SpeeDBee Synapse" (abbreviated as SBS). By using the SpeeDBee Synapse, it is possible to collect data on manufacturing site facilities and link other systems. Of course, outside the factory floor, IoT systems can also be built.
1.1 Target Audience#
This manual is intended for the following users:
- Designers of IoT systems and FA systems
- Those who manage IoT systems and FA systems
- Those who actually operate and run IoT and FA systems
You can also implement your own functions as "custom components" using programming languages. In that case, you need some programming knowledge. Details are described in the manual.
1.2 Agreements#
Be sure to read the information in this section before using SpeeDBee Synapse.
These Software License Terms clarify that SaltySter Inc.(hereinafter referred to as "Licensor") grant a license to use the software to the customer (hereinafter referred to as "Licensee") when the customer use SpeeDBee Synapse(hereinafter referred to as the "Software") on the condition that the Licensee comply with all these terms and conditions. Note that the Software may contain the software subject to license conditions (GNU General Public License: GPL, GNU Lesser Public License: LGPL) determined by the rights holder of the software other than Licensor (such software hereinafter referred to as "exempt software"). Use of software not covered by this license is subject to the license conditions specified by each right holder.
Article 1 (License)
Subject to each provision of this Agreement, Licensor shall grant to the Licensee a non-transferable and non-exclusive right to use the Software and its documentation (The Software and Documentation are hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Software".) in Japan (the right to exploit a work, including the right of reproduction and the right of adaptation based on the Copyright Act; the same applies hereinafter).
Article 2 (Conditions of Use)
1. The Licensee may use the Software provided by Licensor on the designated hardware/operating system only for the relevant functions.
2. Licensee may not use the Software for direct control of nuclear facilities. However, in case that the Software is to be used in nuclear facilities for purposes other than the purposes set forth in the preceding paragraph, or for the purpose of air traffic control or mass transportation control, prior written notification shall be given to Licensor and its approval shall be obtained.
3. Licensee may not share, lend or sell the Software to third parties without permission. Licensor also prohibits the use of the same license on multiple devices without permission.
Article 3 (Prevention of Unauthorized Use)
In case that the Licensee commits any of the following acts, this Agreement shall immediately terminate and the Licensor shall have the right to take legal action against the Licensee.
・ Use the Software by falsifying or disguising the Hardware ID.
・ Bypassing or disabling the license authorization system.
・ Illegal copying or duplication of license information in an offline environment.
Article 4 (Prohibitions)
The Licensee shall not reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, or perform any similar acts, reverse engineering, decompile, disassemble, or perform any similar acts in whole or in part with respect to the Software.
Article 5 (License Fee)
1. In compensation for the license of Software, the Licensee shall pay to the Licensor the total amount of license fees for Software and consumption tax thereon as license fees. However, the consideration for the Evaluation Version of the Software shall be zero yen.
2. The fees set forth in this Agreement may not be cancelled for any reason and will not be refunded after payment has been made.
Article 6 (Warranty)
The Licensor warrants only that it is the copyright owner of the Software, and if any defect is found in the Software, the Licensor shall not be liable to compensate the Licensee even if any damage has occurred as a result of such defect.
Article 7 (Prohibition of Assignment, etc. of Rights and Obligations)
The Licensee shall not assign, cause to be transferred, or provide as collateral all or part of the copyright of the Software to a third party, and shall not assign, cause to be transferred, or provide as collateral all or part of the right to use the Software or other rights or obligations arising from this Agreement to a third party.
Article 8 (Effective Period)
This Agreement shall be effective from the Start Date of Use designated by the license key of the Software provided by Licensor and shall be effective until the End Date of Use.
Article 9 (Measures upon Termination of Agreement)
Upon termination of the Agreement, the Licensee shall promptly discontinue use of the Software and shall erase all originals and copies of the Software from all hardware.
Article 10 (Agreed Jurisdiction)
In case that it is necessary to file a lawsuit or file a petition for conciliation, etc. with respect to the Contract, the Licensee and the Licensor shall agree that the Nagano District Court shall be the court with jurisdiction in the first instance, regardless of the amount of suit filed.
Article 11 (Resolution by Consultation)
Any question arising from the interpretation of any provision of this Agreement, or any matter not stipulated herein, shall be resolved through consultation in good faith between the Licensee and the Licensor.
Article 12 (Nullity of Contracts, etc.)
1. In case that the Licensee engages in System Development using Software, and in case that Basic Agreement, Individual Agreement, or other Agreement contains provisions regarding ownership of rights in Software, such provisions shall not prevail over this Agreement, and the Licensee shall not have any rights in Software under this Agreement.
2. In addition, if there is a provision in the Basic Agreement, Individual Agreement, or any other agreement that makes the Licensor liable for damages resulting from the use of the Software, such provision shall be invalid, and the Licensor shall not bear any liability based on such provision.

Supplementary Provisions
These Terms and Conditions shall be effective from February 27, 2025.
1.3 Safety Precautions#
For the following functions, it is possible to change the register, variable, status, etc. of the other device, and the change result may affect the behavior of the equipment.
Before using these functions, be sure to carefully consider and verify the effects on equipment.
