8. Backward Compatibility
This chapter describes backward compatibility.
8.1 Backwards Compatible Target#
The idea of backwards compatibility for SpeeDBee Synapse is explained. Backward compatibility applies to the first "SpeeDBee Synapse" released in fiscal 2024. Other products and similar products before this date are not subject to backward compatibility. (Products are not compatible.)
| Target | Description |
|---|---|
| Configuration information | Various types of information set by the user (Includes user management information such as panel and component settings.) |
| Component | Components provided by SpeeDBee Synapse. Contains custom components added by the user. |
8.2 Backwards compatible#
The basic concept of backward compatibility is to provide products with backward compatibility in mind.
- Revision, Minor Version Update
You can update the existing configuration and the backward compatibility is maintained. (The structure of the internal settings may be changed by the update process, but the user does not need to be aware of it.)
- Major update
This is an update when a major function expansion is made. In this case, the principle is to try to maintain backward compatibility. But there may be cases where backward compatibility is not maintained. The update procedure in such cases will be detailed at the time of the update. We also provide individual information.
